Hilda Sjolderenn, Angel Crown Princess of the last Kingdom Meginheim, is tired of being confined to her castle. Her mother underestimates her because of her undeveloped wings and no one takes her seriously. She has had enough of it.

Hilda decides to enroll in the neighboring land Myrdale's Dragon Academy, the land of the people that are known to despise the Monarchy most of all. She is determined to show her people, and the other lands, what she is capable of and earn the title she was born with. But complications start on the very first day she arrives in the foreign land. She is placed in the North Dorms that are looked down on by all other dorms at the Academy because of the dubious Mistress Herja Vrede. While Hilda makes nothing of it at the beginning of the term, truths about her past are soon revealed to her, turning her world upside down. While love grows and falls apart around her, and safety becomes more a memory than a promise, she has to fight the demons awakened inside her and protect herself and her friends in order to secure a safe future for them and their continent, even if it means sacrificing what she loves most.

Love and devastation awaits Hilda the second she leaves the safe walls of her castle. Regret and longing welcomes her when she returns.
